The first 3 paintings are inspired on the tango lessons I took. It's about the steps we take, the mistakes we make, and the things we try. There is pain and happiness in learning new things. The next 5 paintings are about sexuality. The one shown above this text is an example. It's about women using their sexuality to gain power over man, and men letting them do so. Also it's about the pleasure of desiring. There is a lot of condemation about sexuality in our world, and at the same time porn and stories about child abuse are ever growing more abundant. Also I believe that the pleasure in fullfulling our sexual desire, enjoyable as that may be, is not the deepest pleasure we can experience. But in our culture, which I believe is sick to the very core, it is very hard to pursue these deeper truths. What to do? I make paintings to express my views about the subject. The last few paintings are studies for the portrait series I made.
