My life has been very busy the last few years. Too busy, actually, to update my website frequently. Also, with regard to painting I have only been thinking-feeling my way into a new series of paintings, but haven’t touched a brush in a while, except to paint the walls of our new house. But now I am getting ready to do some work. I ordered 7 canvases, and my new series will be a little bit like the portraits I made about 20 years ago. The difference, however, is that these paintings will be of people I call masters. These masters are people that, in my perception, have resolved (most) of their childhood trauma’s and/or issues, and that have went on to teach the world about how to increase their overall happiness, love and awareness levels. As examples you can think of people like Byron Katie, A.H. Almaas, Buddha, Lise Muller, Osho, Jezus Christ and possibly a whole bunch of others. I have chosen people that have touched my heart/soul in one way or another. I do not mean that these are the greatest masters that have or will ever have lived. It is just that I love/like them in my own individual way. Also these paintings are not portraits in any sense. They are my perception of the energy that these people have or have had, or rather the energy I feel-think-see when I try to imagine who they were and what they were trying to teach-achieve-be.

My path to clarity has taken me to the doorstep of the MBA in Amsterdam (Amsterdam Business School, connected to the University of Amsterdam or UvA). I just finished the first year and am amazed at how much I enjoyed this study, notably the fellow students, teachers and other staff. It has been (and hopefully will be) a learning experience that I find truly wonderful. Some other things I did in the past years are a rebalancing training (deep tissue massage) by Satyaharti, a 10 day Vipassana (master Goenka style), I have been writing (lessons by Jessica Durlacher and Nicolien Mizee), I ran 2 marathons (3:52 and 4:12) and I have also been enjoying work and spending time with my girlfriend, who is currently my fiancée. Yes, I am getting married! It is a bit old fashioned but it feels absolutely right.
